The Age of Attention Economy

In a world of endless scrolling, notifications and constant distraction, attention is the new currency. Join us for an evening of engaging conversation, learning, speaking and connection, and find out how to capture attention, communicate with impact, and keep your audience tuned in.

What to expect

What happens in the room

A Toastmasters member speaking from a lectern, smiling, while club members listen from the table around him.

Prepared speeches

Two or three members speak on something they’ve worked on, for five to seven minutes each.

Table Topics

Short, unscripted answers to a question nobody saw coming. One to two minutes. Guests are welcome to try, and just as welcome to pass.

Evaluations

A member tells each speaker what worked and what to try next. Two to three minutes, and always kind.

Why join

What you get out of it

Master your nerves

You practise in front of the same friendly room every fortnight, until standing up stops being the hard part.

Lead with impact

Every meeting is run by members. You’ll chair it, time it, evaluate it, and find out that running a room is a skill you can learn.

Build your network in Nairobi

Forty-five members, most of them working professionals in and around Upper Hill. You’ll meet people you wouldn’t have met otherwise.

Achievements

Our members compete.
And they win.

Come along

Come and see for yourself

Sit at the back, say nothing, and decide afterwards. That’s how most of us started.
